Entry Level Pre-Construction Manager

£50,000 + Package

Our client is a highly respected Design & Build organisation specialising in commercial interiors, CAT A & CAT B fit outs, building remodeling etc. A proven track record of extremely successful projects, this company is committed to delivering high-quality construction solutions to clients.

They are seeking a highly motivated and detailed-orientated Entry Level Pre-Construction Manager to join their Pre-Construction team.

Duties include:

  • The role involves supporting the Pre-Con team with contract administration tasks and wider pre-construction activities.

  • Oversee the contract administration on all projects in the pre-construction phase from assembling documentation for our main contract tenders, supply chain tenders, preparation of sub-contract orders, sub-contractor & main contractor warranties, main contracts and all insurance matters up to including the point of handover to the Contracts Manager who will undertake the build process thereafter.

  • Preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for projects, evaluation of subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring compliance with project requirements and specifications.

  • Engagement of our clients team, supply chain, their clients, consultants & professional team.


Preferred Skills & Experiences:

  • Degree educated Quantity Surveying/Construction Management or related field.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a quantity surveying /estimating/pre contracts role ideally with a Design & Build/Traditional contractor or a small to medium main contractor.

  • Sound knowledge of surveying principles, cost estimating & contract administration.

  • Familiar with relevant construction contracts – mainly JCT, (occasionally NEC & FIDIC).

  • Knowledge of contract insurances.

  • Working with file-share systems, Docusign, BoxSign etc

  • Ideally a working knowledge of services installations, both electrical and mechanical.

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

  • A strong awareness of the balance of risk and profit is essential and commercial understanding of the market and market values.

  • Experienced negotiator

  • Experienced user of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, electronic take-off (Bluebeam etc) and a planning/programming software package such as ASTA Power project
