The work is a mixture of commercial and residential projects as well as mixed use schemes and projects currently range from £2 million to £40 million. Projects are typically Central London refurbishments, but the business has a portfolio of creditable new build projects and fast track fit outs ranging from Country Mansions to City financial institutions.
And they have achieved all of this without a single estimator or business developer.
So typically long term and recommended clients seek their input from an early stage. Most of the current work is either negotiated or softly tendered. There’s no single stage aggressive lump sum D&B here.
This is one of the key factors that ‘sets them apart from the pack’, but the management team have only achieved this by years spent previously in major businesses developing and sustaining a reputation. The fact that many of the management team hail from that business is no coincidence. Technically challenging, logistically demanding jobs delivered successfully time and again.
They are seeking to employ someone to drive their newest and largest scheme. The scheme is the largest single dwelling in London with over 33,000 square feet at £1000 psf build cost. Initially you will play a number 2 to one of the Board Directors with a plan to slowly hand over the project in the first 6 months.
The candidate must have proven experience of successfully delivering at least 3 complex central London Refurbishment projects ranging up to and ideally over £30 million as number 1 from pre-qualification to PC and retention return.
This will include full client and consultant team interface, survey interrogation, design interrogation, construction methodology and the formulation of the Construction Issue Programme from Tender Programme in coordination with the Information Required schedule and Procurement schedule. This will involve the breakdown of the scope of works and effective input into package procurement and then intricate management of the design process from there. Then, site strategy, health and safety strategy, logistics strategy, stakeholder interface and management including local authority departments, party wall freeholders and leaseholders and essentially driving the project on site to achieve key programme benchmarks whilst maintaining client and consultant and ideally supply chain relationships.
The successful candidate must have had experience across a number of procurement routes including D&B and Traditional and provide strong delivery credentials. This must be proven by references from Architects, Structural Engineers and PMs who are known to KH.
Degree or HND as a minimum in an engineering or construction related discipline. The candidate will not come from a Commercial or M&E background.
