Our client

Our client provides design, supply, installation and commissioning services relating to the Mechanical, Air conditioning and Public Health Services. They are based in London and are dedicated to providing quality work.

The role

They are looking for a Mechanical Estimator to report to the Head of Estimating. The Estimator will be responsible for the management of tenders by researching and gathering all relevant information and to win work for the Company by completing and submitting competitive tenders. Tender values range from 500k to 6M.

Attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work under pressure is essential. Using Office (Word & Excel) for compilation of estimates and Dropbox for distribution of enquiries.

Description of Key Duties:

To undertake Mechanical tenders by reviewing and completing the tender forms and ensure they are within the given specifications.  Perform evaluation of the tenders and provide the pricing in a timely manner.      

Responsible for developing and maintaining professional working relationships with clients and sub-contractors.                                                                                                                               

Obtain estimates and prices from sub-contractors and suppliers respectively.                                           

Prepare and issue of tenders in line with the tender documentations provided.                              

When required getting involved with site surveys.                                                                            

When required getting involved with design after the training period, particularly design and build projects which we frequently encounter.

Follow up tenders and assist with securing projects.                                                            

Work with your immediate manager to continuously improve the process for estimating.                                      

To have knowledge and understanding of the health and safety regulations.
