A well-established Design & Build company with a turnover of £15 million. They deliver high-quality commercial and residential projects, with individual contract values typically ranging from £50k to £300k.
We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring successful delivery within budget, on time, and to the client’s satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the management of 4-6 projects simultaneously, with contract values ranging from £50k to £300k. Running a project portfolio of up to £1 million.
Manage projects from inception through to completion, including pre-construction planning, budgeting, contract negotiation, and delivery.
Effectively allocate resources, both personnel and materials, to ensure timely project execution.
Act as the key point of contact for clients, ensuring clear, concise, and proactive communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain budgetary control, ensuring projects are delivered within the agreed financial constraints.
Ensure all projects meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations for quality.
Identify potential risks early on and implement appropriate mitigation strategies to avoid project delays or budget overruns.
Ensure all projects comply with legal requirements and best practices for health and safety.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management, ideally within the Design & Build sector.
Demonstrable experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with individual values ranging from £50k to £300k, total project portfolio up to £1 million.
Comprehensive understanding of the D&B process, including pre-construction, design, procurement, and project execution phases.
Strong budget management skills, including forecasting, tracking costs, and managing GP (gross profit) margins.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Ability to anticipate challenges and address issues proactively to ensure project success.
Familiarity with UK building regulations, contract management, and on-site safety requirements.
Degree or equivalent in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is desirable but not essential. Relevant project management certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) are a plus.
Benefits
£80,000 - £85,000 base salary.
Percentage of Gross Profit (GP) on completed projects.
